Gerhard is Head of Navigation and Spectrum at EUROCONTROL, an inter-governmental agency supporting European aviation. He is leading several initiatives to mitigate interference to satellite navigation and its potential impact on aviation, both at the institutional level (International Civil Aviation Organization, ICAO and International Telecommunications Union, ITU) and at the practical level, conducting a variety of test campaigns and engaging in industrial developments through partnerships. This includes the investigation of intentional interference to GNSS, such as spoofing.
