Col Suhail Zaidi (Retd) is an Army veteran from Corps of Signals with Electronics & Telecommunication engineering background. During his 23 years of cross-functional experience in Technical and Administrative fields, he has conceptualized, engineered & maintained secure Voice & Data Networks over diverse media like Microwave, Optical Fibre, Satellite and legacy copper, besides leading the Information Systems at Corps Headquarters. He also had stints in Military Intelligence and Counter Insurgency operations. He has also been member of Services Selection Board & Recruiting Directorate. Post pre-mature retirement from Indian Army in 2017, he joined CII as Head of ICT, where he was responsible for the capacity building and policy advocacy in the important sectors of IT&ITeS, Cybersecurity, Telecom & Broadband and eCommerce. The industry lead CII National committees of these sectors contributed immensely to the nation. Presently Col Suhail Zaidi heads the CII-Tata Communications Centre for Digital Transformation (CDT) which focuses on handholding the organisations in their journey of business transformation on the backbone of technology. With the purpose of making Industry Globally completive, CDT aims to help organisations by assessing their current state in terms of digital adoptions and pave their journey to transform the business by effectively employing the best suited technology. CDT’s portfolio includes Digital services, Dxcel® Rating, Cyber Security initiatives, Various Capacity building programs, Awards/Recognitions, and several outreach programs. He is a wildlife enthusiast and likes playing golf & squash.
