Head of Cyber Resilience Coordination Centre, BIS, Switzerland
Dr. David Whyte is currently the Head of the Cyber Resilience Coordination Centre (CRCC) at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). In his role as the head of the CRCC, he is responsible for leading and developing the Bank’s cyber resilience coordination activities that includes conducting cyber security seminars and cyber range exercises, developing cyber resilience maturity models, and performing outreach activities for the central bank community.
He was formerly the Technical Director of Cyber Defence at the Communications Security Establishment (CSE), Canada's national cryptologic agency. In that capacity, he was CSE's technical lead responsible for overseeing the implementation of the next-generation cyber threat-detection services for the Government of Canada. David holds a PhD in Computer Science as well as a Master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in System Design and Management.
