CEO, Remedio, Israel
Tal Kollender’s journey is a story of transformation, innovation, and resilience. What began as a fascination with online gaming led to a path that has reshaped how organizations approach cybersecurity. Kollender’s entrepreneurial vision and ability to turn challenges into opportunities have positioned her as a trailblazer in a traditionally male-dominated industry.
At a young age, Kollender’s competitive spirit drove her to tackle suspicious activity on gaming leaderboards. Teaching herself to hack, she spent more time mastering computers than attending school. By 16, she had earned her first million, gaining a reputation as a formidable force in the cyber world. Rather than pursuing personal gain, Kollender chose a path of service and purpose, refining her skills as a cybersecurity expert in an elite unit of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), where she shifted from exploitation to protection.
After her military service, Kollender joined DELL EMC and identified a recurring challenge: a lack of scalable solutions to prevent system misconfigurations. She sketched her vision on a napkin, shared it with a startup advisor, and launched her entrepreneurial journey. From that sketch, she built Remedio, which today safeguards over three million devices across 300+ organizations globally, including Fortune 500 companies and critical infrastructure providers.
As CEO, Kollender has led Remedio to become a pioneering force in cybersecurity, automating the detection and remediation of misconfigurations across IT and OT environments. Her solutions ensure operational resilience, protecting industries like healthcare, finance, and manufacturing, and preventing catastrophic events such as blackouts.
As a bootstrapped company, Remedio has achieved profitability without external funding—a testament to Kollender’s strategic leadership and vision. Her journey from black-hat hacker to white-hat protector, from military expert to tech entrepreneur, demonstrates unique determination and global impact.
